What lurks around the corner?

You find yourself standing outside a locked door in a dark alley way. You do not remember who you are or how you go to be where you are.
Your head hurts and when you reach up to feel the back, you find clotted blood. There is blood on your shirt, pants, shoes and hands.
You are not sure if it is your blood.
You are not sure of anything.
You do not have a wallet or any form of identification. In your pants pocket you find a 3 inch knife, $2.67 and a pack of cherry gum.
In you coat pocket, your find a .38 cal Saturday night special.
It is dark. You do not know where you are or what time it is.
What do you do?

I smell the muzzle of the .38 to see if it has been fired recently. Is it loaded? If so are any of the shells missing, or is it a full load? Do I seem to be famillar with the .38 even though I dont remember my own name?
With all this blood, is there a trail on the ground? Does it lead into the ally and up to the door, or does it start at the door and lead to me?
I would try to jimmy the lock with the knife.
